David Meller
Candidate for Cheadle East and Cheadle Hulme North
Cllr David Meller became the first elected Labour councillor in Cheadle for over 50 years back in 2018. He was re-elected in May 2022.
He represents the existing Cheadle Hulme North ward and is standing to be elected in the new Cheadle East and Cheadle Hulme North ward. Between 2019-2022, he was the Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration, overseeing the borough’s regeneration, transport infrastructure and economic development.
He is behind the successful plans to bring a railway station to Cheadle and has brought investment into Cheadle Hulme North to support road safety, deliver new play equipment and public realm improvements on Councillor Lane. He has also fought for residents to address flooding issues and campaigned on the lack of NHS dentists.
